It is entirely predictable that a tyrant would want to control what the People hear and read. Some on the Left might prefer the only broadcast news outlets in America to be the 1,400 radio and television stations funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to ensure that no unapproved populist voices would be heard.

In the 1992 movie Red Dawn, America is invaded by Communist troops. The movie focuses on the effect of the invasion by one detachment of Latin American soldiers in one small town.

There are so many dangerous ideas circulating in our society today, one searches for a root problem that has spawned all of these other bad ideas.  Perhaps if we could just identify and expose that root problem, other secondary problems would improve.

During the last administration, President Trump and his staff often referred to those foreigners who were illegally in the country as “illegal aliens.”  Makes sense.  That’s not a pejorative — just a fact.

In every nation that affords its citizens the right to vote, people go to the polls in the hope and expectation that the outcome of the election will reflect the views of the citizens of that nation — and no one else.

Aristotle built his political theory on basic principles, one of which was the concept of citizenship. A citizen is a person who has the right to participate in the processes by which his nation is governed. Aristotle distinguished citizens from mere inhabitants of the nation who did not have such rights, such as resident aliens.
