Whenever government is entrusted with a power to do good, we should expect that it will be abused to do ill.  Government is particularly dangerous when it seeks to protect Americans from making bad decisions.

War is a drain on the resources of a society. War results in the death of a nation’s young men, and now, some women. Once begun, war cannot be controlled. All nations that “win” wars suffer, and those nations that “lose” wars can suffer greatly.

Last year, a remarkable decision was issued by a federal district court which revealed the degree to which the federal government secretly has been pressuring social media sites like Twitter and Facebook to censor the political speech of Americans.

It is entirely predictable that a tyrant would want to control what the People hear and read. Some on the Left might prefer the only broadcast news outlets in America to be the 1,400 radio and television stations funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to ensure that no unapproved populist voices would be heard.
