Conquering Corruption

Newsletter | January 18, 2024

The arrogant antics of America’s corrupt ruling class turned bizarre this week when they unveiled what appears to be the latest instrument in their ongoing campaign to destroy Donald Trump and violate the rights of the U.S. electorate. An NBC report claimed that “fears grow that Trump will use the military in ‘dictatorial ways’ if he returns to the White House.” What’s the worry? Well, according to the story, “Trump has raised fresh questions about his intentions if he regains power by putting forward a legal theory that a president would be free to do nearly anything with impunity — including assassinate political rivals.”

Yes, the story is absurd on its face — a legal theory about killing people. Who could fall for nonsense like this? Sadly, scores of propaganda media consumers will believe it, just as they’ve swallowed whole every other lie pushed by the insufferable press the last eight years. But more importantly, the story is meant to alert insiders that this is the play heading into 2024: Build up the narrative that Trump is a dictator who will use his powers in dangerous ways and must therefore be removed by military leaders loyal to the Constitution. In other words, they’re laying down the premise for a military coup should Trump win in November. Let’s call this the “Trump Caesar” narrative.

It’s the latest in a long series of information warfare operations weaponized to target Trump and lay waste to our Constitutional Republic. In 2016 the media, Clinton campaign, and intelligence agencies colluded on the Trump-Russia operation, designed to recast the world-famous real estate mogul and reality TV host as a secret Russian spy. A disgraced British spy fabricated titillating stories that the FBI used to spy on the Republican candidate and his circle, including General Mike Flynn, America’s Future Board Chair.

In 2020, the same consortium of spies, media, big tech and political operatives collaborated on multiple operations, all based on censoring information detrimental to the Democratic Party’s candidate. Perhaps most memorably, with the support of current and former intelligence officials, social media platforms and the press censored reports of Hunter Biden’s laptop and the evidence it provided of alleged Biden family corruption. The infamous “51 spies” letter, with signatures from former CIA chiefs John Brennan, Michael Hayden, and Leon Panetta, said reports of the laptop carried all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation.

The lesser known but perhaps more significant censorship operation silenced all social media criticism of the novel covid-era voting procedures instituted to accommodate the mass hysteria generated by corrupt public health officials. Mass mail-in-voting, ballot harvesting, ballot drop-boxes, etc. were all designed to facilitate voter fraud. Thus, anyone who questioned the integrity of procedures devised to defraud the electorate was banned from social media.

“Trump Caesar” arrives just as the political establishment’s lawfare campaign is collapsing. Special counsel Jack Smith’s cases are falling apart, and his use of an obstruction statute is likely to be nullified by the Supreme Court. Fulton County DA Fani Willis is alleged to have unlawfully funded the prosecutor on the case, her boyfriend. And reports from the civil suits brought against Trump by sex advice columnist E. Jean Carroll read like surreal comedy skits in a Kafkaesque universe — she’s suing the GOP frontrunner for defending himself against her accusations of sexual assault.

Americans see what’s happening — and it’s not just the U.S. middle-class beleaguered by three years of destructive Joe Biden policies who are wised up. This week, JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon said that the elites should lay off Trump and his supporters, and besides, he added, Trump did a good job on borders, the economy, and China. In effect, the top Wall Street executive gave business leaders across the country the green light to ignore the complaints of their hystericized liberal family members and vote for their interests.

Not even a month into the New Year, things are looking up for Team America — but we’re hardly out of the woods. The same corrupt ruling class that’s targeted Trump to destroy American peace and prosperity won’t rest until they have total victory. And that’s why our goal is to rout them entirely — and keep America great.

America Patriots - J Michael Waller

J. Michael Waller is Senior Analyst for Strategy at the Center for Security Policy. A former operative for the CIA, he received his military training as an insurgent with the Nicaraguan contras.

Waller is an expert in foreign propaganda, political warfare, psychological warfare, and subversion, and has been an instructor with the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, and at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Bragg. He holds a Ph.D. in international security affairs from the University Professors Program at Boston University and is author of several books, including the just published Big Intel: How the CIA and FBI Went from Cold War Heroes to Deep State Villains.

Recently we spoke with Mike to get his insight into the US intelligence community and whether it’s still capable of serving our great country.

In Big Intel you tell the story of how the CIA and FBI went from serving the country to undermining it. How did that happen?

It was a long journey. One of the bedrock roles of the FBI was to defend America from Communist and anarchist subversion. The CIA was created specifically at the dawn of the Cold War to contain and defeat Communist expansion. Certain serious misdeeds aside, they began undermining the country when they absorbed critical theory, sometimes known as cultural Marxism, and adopted it as “mission-critical” to American intelligence and counterintelligence.

Did foreign governments and intelligence services have a role in subverting U.S. agencies?

America is the Number One target of hostile foreign governments and their intelligence services around the world. It’s natural that our FBI, CIA, and the entire intelligence community would be among the primary targets for infiltration to undermine us from within. This has been true throughout our country’s history. George Washington warned about it in his Farewell Address.

Are there enough patriots at these agencies to reform them, or do they have to be shut down?

There are certainly enough patriotic Americans out there. But the FBI and CIA have suffered so much decay that they can’t be reformed. One cannot reform agencies whose malevolent personnel cannot be fired. Two generations of politically correct and woke fanatics have ensconced themselves in the bureaucracies. And there are not enough patriotic Americans with the necessary academic and political training and experience, with security clearances, to take their place.

So it makes sense to take the FBI and break it apart by function – counterintelligence, fighting interstate or federal criminals, fighting cybercrime and child-trafficking, world-class crime labs and technology and so forth, and transfer those functions to other agencies that have those same responsibilities. And also to remove certain powers from the central government that properly belong in the hands of the states.

Similarly, we need to re-envision our foreign intelligence. CIA is still stuck in its mid-Twentieth Century box. It does a lot of useless intelligence work like secret squirrel activities fighting climate change. We can do a lot better with a foreign intelligence service that’s leaner and more focused. And not run by woke fanatics.

What is the biggest foreign threat facing America today? What is the biggest domestic threat?

Our biggest foreign threat is Communist China. It’s rapid military expansion, strategic nuclear modernization, extraordinarily aggressive espionage, and endless subversion of our country and the entire world presents the greatest foreign threat.

Russia has thousands of nuclear warheads aimed at us, but we’ve managed to keep things stable for 70 years. It’s stuck in its old KGB ways, and that’s a huge problem, but it pales in comparison to the Chinese Communists.

Our biggest domestic threat is subversion. Not necessarily by foreign intelligence operations, but by the Soviet-incubated ideological rot that’s destroying our history, our commitment to America’s founding principles and the Western moral tradition, and the wokeness that is designed to destroy our values and turn us all against one another.

What is your prayer for America?

I pray that America stops destroying its soul. That Americans stop degrading themselves and one another. That they stop this ceaseless questioning of everything in order to destroy all that is good. That they believe in the principles that made our country great.

We’ve Got A Country To Save
US Flag over sunset

In the administrative state’s world of make-believe, the borders are secure, the economy is just fine, citizens feel safe, justice is meted out fairly and equally, and on and on. In the real world, each and every one of these is false.

With election season heating up and all the noise coming from political operatives, now is the time to get your own ground game going because We The People have a country to save.

Here are 10 action steps you can take, but atop these 10, commit to being fearless in standing up and speaking up to keep our nation free.

  1. Get involved in your local community…whatever it is, get involved.
  2. Organize a neighbor info session – use a community center, a school building, your home. Find a way to make a difference.
  3. Run for a political office in your local community. If that’s not possible, study the candidates running for office and get involved in their campaigns.
  4. Attend public hearings on issues you are interested in. Go to school committee and city and town council meetings. If you want change, stand up, speak up.
  5. Reach out to your elected representatives, locally and nationally, and let them know your position on issues.
  6. Volunteer as a poll worker on election day.
  7. Check your voter registration record. If you moved or your name changed, or you want to switch party affiliation, update the record.
  8. Demand your community’s voter rolls are up-to-date.
  9. Commit to one or two hours per week to do the work required to stay informed and involved in your local political scene.
  10. Pray – We have a country to save.

America’s Future Files SCOTUS Brief Supporting First Amendment Rights

On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, America’s Future filed an Amicus brief in the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) in National Rifle Association of America v Maria T. Vullo, SCOTUS Dkt. No. 22-842.  The SCOTUS public docket for this case is located here.  The brief was filed in support of the National Rifle Association (NRA), the petitioner in this case, and its position that its First Amendment rights were violated when former New York state government officials of Andrew Cuomo’s administration threatened banks, insurance companies, and other entities, with adverse regulatory action if they conducted business with the NRA.  Nineteen other nonprofit organizations joined the brief.

This is the second Amicus brief filed by America’s Future in this case. On May 24, 2023, America’s Future filed an initial Amicus brief, urging the SCOTUS to grant NRA’s petition for certiorari and resolve the case on its merits.  At the time it filed its petition, the NRA presented the following two questions to the SCOTUS:

1. Does the First Amendment allow a government regulator to threaten regulated entities with adverse regulatory actions if they do business with a controversial speaker, as a consequence of (a) the government’s own hostility to the speaker’s viewpoint or (b) a perceived “general backlash” against the speaker’s advocacy?

2. Does such coercion violate a clearly established First Amendment right?

On November 3, 2023, the SCOTUS agreed to hear the case on its merits but limited the issue to question one (1), above.

Today, Americans are keenly aware of the pervasive nature of executive branch officials deploying methods of coercion such as intimidation and threats against private entities in what is a proxy effort to censor the constitutionally protected speech of their political opponents.

The idea that executive branch officials exert their power over entities in the private sector to demonetize, deplatform, and suppress ideas and advocacy groups considered hostile to their political ideologies is not only disturbing, but wholly un-American.  This conduct interferes with elections and prevents self-governance, the primary principle this nation was built upon.

The notion that political power is being abused at the local and national level to deprive citizens of rights guaranteed to them under the First and Second Amendments for political purposes and to achieve political powers is intolerable.

And, to be clear, this case is, by no means, an outlier or isolated event.  As explained in the brief, juxtaposing this case next to another case now before SCOTUS, i.e. Murthy v Missouri, (more commonly referred to as Missouri v Biden), SCOTUS Dkt. 23-411, demonstrates the broader societal problem we face as a nation.

Just as the New York authorities told the insurance companies they had to protect against ‘reputational risk,’ the Biden Administration told the Big Tech companies that they must guard against information coming from ‘Foreign Malign States.’ Neither rationale has withstood scrutiny. Both the Biden Administration and the Cuomo Administration have had the same objective — to target and silence domestic political opponents in violation of the First Amendment.

Our brief provides the SCOTUS with ample insight and information illustrating the irreparable public harms at stake if Article III courts, including the SCOTUS, allow such abuses of power and tyrannical conduct by an executive branch at the state or national level to go unchecked. America’s Future stands for the U.S. Constitution and its principle of limited government power.  We urge the SCOTUS to reverse the judgment of the Second Circuit in this case.  The SCOTUS is the last line of defense against egregious governmental intrusions on our freedom and untenable assaults on our liberties.  As stated in our brief,

It is one thing for opposing political parties and candidates to square off in the political arena to persuade voters to vote them into office. It is quite another to allow incumbents to abuse government powers to censor or attack political opponents. The heavy hand of government must be removed from the political scale, or the will of the people will never be truly known.

Tools Of Tyrants
Deep State Blackmail

This is the fifth entry in our In Focus series identifying and exposing the tools that modern-day tyrants are using to thwart the will of We The People for power and control. To access previous articles, please click here.

This week marks the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the national holiday established to commemorate his life.  It is a fitting time to reflect on a particular tool of tyrants that the FBI weaponized against King — blackmail.

Just two days after King’s now-iconic “I Have a Dream” speech, assistant FBI director William Sullivan wrote, “We must mark him now … as the most dangerous Negro of the future of this Nation…”  To implement its plan, the FBI embarked on a vast wiretapping operation of King. “Attorney General Robert Kennedy gave consent … to break into King’s office and home installing phone taps and bugs to track the leader’s movements and conversations….”  Although the recordings may not have produced what was expected — further evidence of King’s association with members of the Communist Party — they did reveal details about his extramarital affairs.

David J. Garrow, a Pulitzer Prize winning author who had written a highly regarded 1981 book, The FBI and Martin Luther King, Jr., felt obliged to investigate the charges.  His conclusions were King “allegedly had sexual relations with at least 40 women, from prostitutes to people within his inner circle.”  How would the FBI use this lurid information which they obtained by illegal means?   Agents sent King a cassette with “allegedly incriminating audio recordings”  and with that cassette, they sent an anonymous note, threatening to reveal his moral indiscretions.  What is truly remarkable is that the letter concluded:  “You have just 34 days…. There is but one way out for you.”  That language has been generally interpreted as an invitation to avoid embarrassment by committing suicide.

The invitation to suicide may be unique, but Deep State blackmail is not.  J. Edgar Hoover kept in his own office suite what were known as his “Official and Confidential Files.”

In 1975, the Church Committee, referencing FBI and CIA spying on King and many others, noted that covert programs have been used “to disrupt the lawful political activities of individual Americans and groups and to discredit them, using dangerous and degrading” retaliatory tactics which are abhorrent in a free and decent society.

Most American’s probably would not mind the Deep State directing its surveillance and blackmail in defense of the nation, but it is often used in defense of the Deep State.  When Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) stated that Trump was “being really dumb” for challenging the intelligence agencies, he warned:  “Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.”  One of those ways is blackmail.  Whistleblower after whistleblower has revealed how U.S. intelligence agencies have compiled compromising information on politicians, military officers, and generally anyone in a position of power an agency may want to keep on a short leash.

In 2009, former FBI whistleblower Sibel Edmonds testified under oath, providing “detailed allegations include bribery, blackmail, espionage and infiltration of the U.S. government of, and by current and former members of the U.S. Congress, high-ranking State and Defense Department officials and agents of the government of Turkey.”  The transcript of her testimony alleged agents had secretly videotaped a Democrat congresswoman in a lesbian affair, for potential blackmail purposes.

In 2020, we learned that the FBI had spied on Congressman Darin LaHood (R-CO).  Last year, a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court opinion was released which asserted the FBI had spied on a U.S. Senator, a state senator and a state court judge (all of whom are as yet unnamed).

Congressman Tim Burchett (R-TN) recently stated that members of Congress have been blackmailed to block the release of the list of names connected with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.  Burchett alleged that intelligence agencies intentionally entrap politicians into compromising positions in order to obtain their political allegiance.

“This is how it works: You’re out of the country, out of town … and some, whatever you’re into — comes up to you, They’re very attractive and laughing at your jokes.  Next thing you know, you’re in the hotel room with them naked.  You’re getting ready to make a key vote, and some well dressed person comes up and whispers in your ear, ‘Hey man, there’s tapes out on you, and you really ought not to be voting for this thing.’”

How many members of Congress, governors, mayors, or others would choose humiliation over a secret, last-minute change of mind?

Young people considering a career in politics would be well advised to understand that any invitation to immoral or illegal behavior might not be based on that person’s appearance or brilliance.  It may be coming from an agent of the Deep State seeking to build up a file to be used in the future.  If a young person does not want to be subject to threats, it would be wise to follow the rule: “Don’t do anything you won’t want to appear on the front page of the New York Times.”
