On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, America’s Future filed an Amicus brief in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in Brandt, et al., v Tim Griffin, in his official capacity as Arkansas Attorney General (AG), et al., Dkt. No. 23-2681, a case regarding the constitutionality of Arkansas’s Save Adolescents from Experimentation (SAFE) Act.
On October 18, 2023, America’s Future filed an Amicus brief with the Texas Supreme Court in Hensley v State Commission on Judicial Conduct, et al., Tx. Sup. Ct. Dkt. No. 22-1145, a case concerning the religious freedom of a judge, a government employee.
On Friday, October 13, 2023, America’s Future and two other nonprofits filed an Amicus brief with the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) in Fischer v United States (U.S.), SCOTUS Dkt. No. 23-5572. The brief urges the SCOTUS to intervene in the federal criminal case brought against Petitioner, Mr. Joseph Fischer, for participating in the Jan 6 Capitol protest.
On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, America’s Future filed an Amicus Brief in the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) in United States v Rahimi, SCOTUS Dkt. No. 22-915. America’s Future and eight other nonprofits jointly filed the Amicus brief in support of the respondent, Mr. Rahimi, and his Second Amendment rights.
On Monday, September 25, 2023, America’s Future filed an Amicus brief with the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in Free Speech Coalition, Inc. (FSC), et al. v Angela Colmenero, Attorney General, State of Texas Dkt. 23-50627. Five nonprofit organizations from around the country joined our Amicus brief.

From the first Monday in October through the 30th day of June each year, SCOTUS is considered to be “in session.” During this timeframe, the Justices preside over oral arguments presented by attorneys for litigants in cases that are granted for review.
On Friday, August 25, 2023, America’s Future filed an Amicus brief with the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) in O’Handley v Weber, California Secretary of State, et al., Dkt. No. 22-1199, a case concerning politically-motivated online censorship effected by a state government agency in violation of the plaintiff’s First Amendment right to speak freely.
On Monday, August 21, 2023, America’s Future filed an Amicus brief with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) v Townstone Financial, Inc and Barry Sturner, Dkt. No. 23-1654. Filed in support of defendants-appellees, Townstone, a mortgage broker/lender, and Mr. Sturner, the owner of Townstone, our brief was joined by four other nonprofits.
