BIRDS OF A FEATHER

The media rarely deride
A President on the same side:
For the faithful defender
Of their social agenda,
They're willing to let some things slide.

From its founding in 1946, America's Future has demonstrated the determination to master all appropriate media and to adapt quickly to new technologies. We're continuing that tradition by using instantaneous electronic transmissions, made possible by satellites and the Internet, to deliver our Behind The Headlines commentaries to entirely new audiences. We're constantly in search of new ways to use old media, too, and that's what "Politickle Postcards" are all about.

"Politickles" are America's Future's unique political limericks lampooning the latest liberal lunacies. Here's an example that emphasizes the peril of a duplicitous President:

THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG

Our nation is destined for grief
If our leader has no fixed belief
And conclusions are drawn
As to whose side he's on
When China plays "Hail to the Chief!"

Our Politickles have appeared repeatedly in the Washington Times, the national conservative weekly Human Events, and many of the 500-plus newspapers across America that carry our Behind The Headlines commentaries. Politickles are the verbal equivalent of editorial cartoons. They make a point quickly, forcefully, humorously. Like editorial cartoons, they're ideal for energizing allies or demoralizing opponents, and perfect for posting on office bulletin boards, faculty lounge refrigerators, and other high-traffic areas.

But why limit them to newspaper readers? That's what we asked ourselves. Why not put these pointed little poems on postcards so they can be read by mail carriers, family members, nosy neighbors, and everybody else along the route between the sender and the recipient? Talk about your alternative media! Why, we've just created our own little samizdat press! We've custom-designed a "Hallmark" card for conservative activists! For example, to poke fun at the network news anchorman's condescending insistence on explaining the obvious, you might post this one:

Seem determined to jabber and jaw:
They think we're too dumb
To discern the outcome
Of the campaign debate we just saw!
